By Zondra Rose

If you have been plagued with acne at some point in your life, you are probably obsessed with washing your face all the time - making sure that it's clean to keep away the acne Ironically, people who are prone to acne are actually quite particular with cleanliness. They often wash their faces and making sure that their body is clean. By doing this, they are hoping that the affliction will eventually go away.

Before we define Cystic acne, let us know the common types of acne: Newborn acne. This is the kind of acne that is often seen in newborn babies. You've probably seen a baby with tiny whiteheads dotting his or her face. That is newborn acne. This is fairly common among newborn.

Infantile acne. This is the kind of acne that is seen in older babies. This includes forms of whiteheads and blackheads.
All You May Need To Know About Acne
Acne Vulgaris. This is the most common type of acne that is seen in many teenagers and young adults.

Acne has many different types along with different superstitious beliefs, theories and treatments.

These different types of treatments may work for others but not on you because of acne's complexity. So, don't just believe on what your friends tell you or what the TV commercial promises with your acne. Those may just be one of theories and superstitious beliefs.

We already know about the physical effects of acne (When you pop it its causes more acnes or worse it becomes a life-long scar), but how about its psychological effects?.

Acne Fulminans. This is the serious type of acne that is accompanies by flu-like symptoms when the lesions erupt. The sufferer may also experience loss of appetite, skin scaring and high WBC count. Men seem to suffer more from this type of acne.

The Causes

Often, you need to identify the cause of the acne in order to pinpoint exactly the type of treatment that will work with the acne. Unfortunately, the cause of cystic acne is not exactly identified. Of course, experts have pinpointed contributing factors to developing cystic acne. Experts have found out that heredity plays a crucial factor in a person's chances of developing cystic acne later in life.

Acne has two main categories. It can be inflammatory acne or non-inflammatory acne. Whether if you're an adult or a teen, your acne may fall to one of these categories.

Blackheads and whiteheads are signs of non-inflammatory acne. Unlike non-inflammatory acnes, inflammatory acnes are harder to identify. Some symptoms of inflammatory acnes may be papules, pustules and in more severe cases, nodules or cysts.

You can look for different kinds of treatments once you already know on what category your acne falls. Always remember that if a certain treatment didn't work for your acne, you can always try some other treatments.

Acne Pomade. This is the kind of acne that results from the skin's irritation to hair products. The irritating ingredients, specifically oils, eventually irritate the forehead causing acne to form.

Aside from oral medications, you can also consider alternative treatment for cystic acne. Actually, you need to consider other alternative acne treatment methods because oral antibiotics are not effective for long-term acne treatment. People who suffer from chronic cystic acne have discovered that oral medications will eventually stop working.

In this case, you can consider light therapy which kills acne causing bacteria upon exposure. This treatment also encourages skin regeneration so you will get clearer and smoother complexion. Of course, you need to have a good budget because light therapy treatment does not come cheap.
